Come join DC Net Impact for an evening of networking and education!
We're partnering with our friends at Anacostia Riverkeeper and others to host an event focused on water conservation and preservation. Join us for an evening of networking and education to learn about the Anacostia River and the ocean, the environmental threats they're each facing, and the solutions helping to protect our most precious natural resource - water.
Following a welcome reception and introduction of our Featured Guests, educational river boat tours guided by Anacostia River Explorers will set out from the Earth Conservation Center. Attendees will network with our Featured Guests at the Conservation Center, and then set out on one of the two 30-minute guided river boat tours throughout the evening. Networking with Featured Guests will be ongoing and continue at the Earth Conservation Center as the boat tours occur.
Food and drinks from Chaia Tacos will be served! Founded by Bettina Stern and Suzanne Simon, Chaia Tacos is a female led, female run business specializing in delicious tacos that are vegetable-based, seasonal, local, and sustainable!
We have curated a group of Featured Water Guests spanning non-profit, corporate, government, and cause-profit businesses:
Kelly Hillovsky - Social Impact Program Officer, LifeStraw
Mark Reyes, Events Manager at Earth Conservation Corps
Ben Scheelk - Senior Program Manager, The Ocean Foundation
Vince Morris - Government Relations & Public Affairs, DC Water
Tickets are $20, register via Eventbrite.
When: Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Event will occur rain or shine! Should inclement weather prevent the boats from launching on the river, the event agenda will be adjusted to accomodate additional indoor time for networking and water education.
